First Day of Fall: Pumpkin Spice Collection

Posted on September 17, 2018September 18, 2018 by Bethy

First day of Fall

This week (Saturday) is the first day of fall…not that it really means much here in Florida where we are still getting 90 degree F weather and heat indexes of over 100 degrees F. Pumpkin spice is certainly trendy and I see it almost everywhere I shop.

I remember the first time I realized that I couldn’t have my beloved pumpkin spice latte! It was devastating, but I’ve learned some tips and tricks since then.

Gluten Free/Dairy Free/Lower Sugar Pumpkin Spice Treats

First up, pumpkin spice nutpods! I love regular nutpods because it is a convenient way to get my creamer without making my own. I’ve had some of their seasonal flavors before and wasn’t that impressed. The pumpkin spice, however, is amazing! It has done away with dairy and sugar and still tastes yummy. I’m a huge fan. I’ve only been able to find this flavor online at amazon and nutpods.com even though all the stores in my area have started carrying nutpods in lots of variety.

Second up, isn’t as healthy for you, but still tastes great! It’s Califia Farms Pumpkin Spice Cold Brew. This does have some sugar in it (10 grams per serving), but it has a great pumpkin spice taste and I enjoyed it. Even the caffeine didn’t bother me when I cut the serving size in half and make sure to drink it in the morning. I found this at my local Target, but also saw it in the regular grocery store too.

Lastly, pumpkin spice apple sauce. My daughter loves GoGo Squeeze applesauce. I had to get the pumpkin spice flavor for her try when I saw it in the store. She likes it-with all its cinnamon flavored goodness. This does have a bit of sugar in it (from the apples)–just an FYI if you are watching your sugar intake! This was available at a traditional grocery store.

Don’t Like Pumpkin Spice?

No need to feel deprived of your favorite fall flavors if you are dealing with an autoimmune disease or food allergies. Pumpkin spice is EVERYWHERE! And if you aren’t a fan, no worries…I am sure egg nog season is right around the corner.
